@PromoGirlJaime: Your tour is called The Whole Story “Ryche” Acoustic Tour 2017. With an impressive career spanning 35 years and 17 albums it must have been quite a task to come up with the set list. Tell us about the process.

Geoff: After so many tours and so many shows, I really wanted my audience to see me as I am, the real me. I feel that with the break up of Queensryche, some may have gotten the wrong impression of who I am. Almost all of my songs are stories and with this show, I wanted to give my audience “the story behind the story”.

@PromoGirlJaime: Tell us about who you are touring with now and what people can expect to see at your show at The Marquee Theatre on March 3rd.

Geoff: I have a wonderful band of really great players. Scott Moughton on guitar from my OMC project. Also on guitar I have Kieran Robertson. On acoustic bass is Nicklaus Dracul. Ollie Jordan-Kelly on Cajon and Evan Kleve on violin. This Acoustic tour is one of the most enjoyable tours I have ever done. The intimacy of the venue really showcases the players abilities and talent. The audience experiences the true emotion of the song in such detail. Every note and each breath is on display.

@PromoGirlJaime: I have read that you like to work with a lot of different people and collaborate with different groups. Can you tell me about some of your favorite collaborations?

Geoff: I do work and collaborate with many musicians. Just lately I worked with Scott Mercado of Candlebox, Brian Tichy of Whitesnake, Simon Wright from ACDC,  John Moyer of Disturbed, Dave Ellefson from Megadeth, Ripper Owens and Blaze Bayley on my Trilogy project. On past records I’ve worked with Ronnie James Dio, Rudy Sarzo, Ty Tabor, KK Downing, Dave Meniketti, Brad Gillis and Tobias Sammet of Avantasia.

@PromoGirlJaime: Your band Operation: Mindcrime released its debut album, The Key, in 2015, which is the first in a three part trilogy. When is the second part slated to be released and is there a running theme/concept to this trilogy?

Geoff: The third album is slated for release September of 2017. Yes, the Trilogy is a musical story told in three acts. Resurrection continues the story that began on the first album The Key with the near death experience of the lead character known as “H” and his subsequent recovery of the missing encryption key. With the Key finally in his possession, “H” has everything he needs to finally launch his long awaited project called “The New Reality”.

@PromoGirlJaime: You are quite the wine enthusiast and even launched your own wine with your wife Susan called Insania. What was the process like to come up with your own wine and how did you decide on the final flavor(s)?

Geoff: I made my first wine when I was 14 years old and I’ve been into it ever since. When I became a traveling musician and began visiting the great wine making regions of the world, I was inspired by what I had experienced and decided to release my own wine and in 2007 my brand, Insania, was released. We make a red which is a Pinot Noir and a white which is a Pinot Grigio.

@PromoGirlJaime: Thank you very much for your time and we will see you at The Marquee Theatre on Friday March 3rd!

Geoff: Thank you for the interview!  Cheers, Geoff
